The Waendel Walkers' Club

The Number 1 Club in the British Walking Federation

The British Walking Federation (BWF) is a member of the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV). The Waendel Walkers Club was formed in 1981 and became the first club to join the BWF (IVV).  We are the most active club in the Federation. All walks are registered with the BWF(IVV) and on completing an event you can claim a stamp towards the IVV award scheme.  For further information e-mail our IVV Representative of the Club.

On all our walks we provide a detailed route description so that you can walk at your own pace on your own or with a group.  You can meet new people and improve your fitness as well as enjoying the countryside in all seasons and weather.

The Club organises a year round series of walks of around 10 or 20 kms on alternate Sunday mornings starting at 10 a.m. We also organise a series of Wednesday evening walks in the Summer of 10 kms starting at 6 p.m.  Each of these walks cost 50p to enter (£1.00 for non-members). A portion of the walk fees is donated to charity each year.

We run four COACH TRIPS a year in April, June, September and December to the seaside or countryside, for sightseeing or walking.

We have two walks over CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR where you can walk off the Christmas pudding and walk in the New Year.

We also arrange at least two social events a year, usually one in the summer and another shortly before Christmas.
