Our next Wednesday evening walk will take place from the Piper in Kettering on 4th August at around 18.00. Please do not arrive before 17.30 as neither the venue nor the walk desk will be ready for you.

The next Sunday walk is scheduled for 8th August at around 10.00 and will take place from the Horseshue at Sywell. If you are considering taking lunch at the venue after your walk please book this directly with the Horseshoe before the date as walk in food cannot be guaranteed. Menus are available on their website and Facebook page. Please do not arrive before 09.30 as neither the walk desk nor the venue will be ready for you.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - the Annual General Meeting of the club is now scheduled for Thursday 19th August at the Old Grammarians HQ in Oxford Street, Wellingborough. Time is 19.30 for a 20.00 start and all members are welcome. Watch this space for further details.

FORTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF WWC - This summer will mark the fortieth anniversary of the Waendel Walkers Club, and due to the strange times we are living in right now we are still considering how this might be recognised and will communicate this once things become clearer. However whatever else may or may not happen we will be organising a limited edition 40 year club polo shirt. If you would like to make a provisional order for one of these please email or Facebook message us with quantity and size required in order for us to plan order quantities, or contact Andrew Whitehead directly or register interest at any walk desk. Price and final colourways are still under discussion as our suppliers have been unavailable during lockdown. We would expect to deliver these during late summer.

Many of you will be aware that long time club member and Wellingborough resident Anita Neil represented the UK in the Olympic Games. Anita is also acknowledged as the first black UK Olympian to win a medal. There is currently a display exhibit at the Wellingborough Museum focussed on Anita and her achievements and I would recommend this to anyone interested in our local history.
